I've been thinking about this blog for quite a while... and finally I decided to give it a try!
My name is Elena, I work as a wedding planner for Ortensia Weddings, and I adore my job!
What I like about it is the creative process behind each wedding I organize.
With this blog, what I would like to share with you is some information to help you making decisions about your wedding, and to feel comfortable about it.
Many brides are afraid of making the wrong decisions, if they decide to go for a funny favour they are afraid it'll look tacky, they hope not to be misunderstood by the guests, and that all the work put into the preparation of their wedding day will show.
Traditions as well can be big obstacles, some of them we like and some just don’t belong to us and our way of seeing things... but getting rid of them is not that easy...
At the end of the day, being a bride has to be fun, so don’t let everyone in the industry ruin it for you. If you have been to some wedding fairs you know how hard it can be to be the Bride, the guy at the chocolate fountain is chasing you to make you eat a strawberry covered in chocolate, the invitation shops is trying to convince you in drawing a cartoon of you and your partner to stick on top of the invitation, the photographer wants to take pictures of you bungee jumping in your wedding dress...
Being a bride sometimes seems like a hard and lonely job!
You are left there on your own having to make lots of decisions about flowers, colours, dresses, ribbons, favours, hairstyle, photographer, invitations, you run the risk of boring yourself to death, if you are lucky you have someone helping you, a friend, a relative etc. if you are very unlucky you have people pushing you to make decision that do not reflect your taste or desire.
So that's the reason why I’m starting to write this blog, I hope that you'll find plenty of support and inspirational ideas that you can use...
